'Jeff Wayne's Musical Version Of The War Of The Worlds' is the debut studio album by Jeff Wayne. It is an album musical adapted from the science-fiction novel The War Of The Worlds by H. G. Wells in a rock opera style with a rock band, orchestra, narrator, and leitmotifs to carry the story and lyrics that express the feelings of the various characters. The album features guest artists David Essex, Justin Hayward, Phil Lynott, Chris Thompson, and Julie Covington, with actor Richard Burton as the narrator. The album became a commercial success in the U.K., debuting at No. 5 on the U.K. Albums Chart. It won two Ivor Novello Awards, including one for Wayne and main lyricist Gary Osborne for Best Instrumental or Popular Orchestral Work. The album has enjoyed enduring popularity since its release and attracted critical acclaim. It has sold over 2.7 million copies in the U.K., and an estimated 15 million copies worldwide. In 2018, it was the U.K.'s 32nd best-selling studio album of all time.

'Mirrors' is the sixth studio album by Blue Oyster Cult. It was the first Blue Oyster Cult album not produced by long-time producer and manager Sandy Pearlman, instead being produced by Tom Werman.

'The River' is the fifth studio album by Bruce Springsteen. The album was Springsteen's attempt to capture The E Street Band's live sound on record. Co-produced by Springsteen, his manager Jon Landau, and bandmate Steven Van Zandt, the recording sessions lasted 18 months in New York City from March 1979 to August 1980. Springsteen originally planned to release a single album, The Ties That Bind, in late 1979, before deciding it did not fit his vision and scrapped it. Over 50 songs were recorded, with outtakes being released as B-sides, or on compilation albums.

'Nebraska' is the sixth studio album by Bruce Springsteen. He recorded the songs unaccompanied on a four-track recorder in the bedroom of his home in Colts Neck, New Jersey. He had intended to rerecord the tracks with The E Street Band but decided to release them as they were, after deeming the full-band renditions to be unsatisfactory. The tape contained seventeen songs, of which ten were used for Nebraska; the others appeared in full-band renditions on the follow-up album Born In The U.S.A. (1984) or as B-sides.

The soundtrack found success, peaking at 31 on the Billboard 200 and 22 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, and was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America on February 8, 1988.
