'Skydancer' is the debut studio album by Dark Tranquillity. This release was the last recorded output to feature vocalist Anders Friden, later of In Flames, who was fired and replaced by guitarist Mikael Stanne. Incidentally, Mikael Stanne was the lead vocalist on the first In Flames studio album, Lunar Strain. The album is considered one of the formative releases of the melodic death metal genre, and has been praised for its lyrical content, ambition and complexity, though reviewers and some of the band members have also criticised it for its production, as well as its songwriting, which has been described as unfocused.

'Hate Crew Deathroll' is the fourth studio album by Children Of Bodom. It was their last album to be recorded with all five original members, as their original rhythm guitarist, Alexander Kuoppala, would leave the band in 2003.

'MMXII' is the fourteenth studio album by Killing Joke.

'Pylon' is the fifteenth studio album by Killing Joke. This is the band's last studio album with guitarist Geordie Walker, before his death in 2023, as well as the band's final studio album to feature the original line-up.

'Engines Of Demolition' is the twelfth studio album by Black Label Society. The nearly five years since Doom Crew Inc. (2021) makes it the longest gap between studio albums in the band's career.
