Morbid Angel is an American death metal band based in Tampa, Florida, formed in 1983. Widely considered one of the most influential bands in the genre and important in the transition of death metal from its thrash metal roots, they were one of the first bands to incorporate guttural vocals, up-tempo blast beats, multiple tempo changes and a dark atmosphere. They were the first death metal band to experience mainstream success in connection with being signed to Giant Records in 1992 and heavy rotation of their music videos on MTV. Their first three albums are considered classics in the genre.

Mad Season was an American rock supergroup formed in 1994 as a side project of members of other bands in the Seattle grunge scene. The band's principal members included guitarist Mike McCready of Pearl Jam, lead singer Layne Staley of Alice In Chains, drummer Barrett Martin of Screaming Trees, and bassist John Baker Saunders. The band released only one album, 'Above', in March 1995. It was certified a gold record by the RIAA in June. The band went on a semi-permanent hiatus in 1996 due to the band members' conflicting schedules and Staley's problems with substance abuse. Attempts were made in the late 1990s to revive the group with Screaming Trees frontman Mark Lanegan instead of Staley, and material for a follow-up release to Above had been worked on. The band permanently dissolved in 1999 following the death of bassist John Baker Saunders from a drug overdose. Staley would also die from an overdose three years later. Martin and McCready have since made two short partial reunions, one in 2012 and one from 2014 to 2015.

'Live ?!*@ Like A Suicide' is the debut E.P. by Guns n' Roses. The record itself was reportedly limited to only 10,000 copies, released only in vinyl and cassette formats. The tracks were later re-released along with four new songs on the E.P. 'G N' R Lies' (1988).

Guns n' Roses is an American hard rock band from Los Angeles, California, formed in March 1985 when local bands Hollywood Rose and L.A. Guns merged. With their stylistic mix of punk rock, blues rock and heavy metal, the band helped move mainstream rock away from the glam metal era of the mid-late 1980s.
