Grunge Rock

3rd Secret is an American alternative rock supergroup formed in late 2021. The band's lineup includes bass guitarist/accordionist Krist Novoselic of Nirvana, drummer Matt Cameron of Pearl Jam and Soundgarden, guitarists Kim Thayil of Soundgarden and Jon 'Bubba' Dupree of Void, and vocalists Jillian Raye and Jennifer Johnson. Novoselic, Johnson, and Raye played together in the band Giants in the Trees; while Cameron and Dupree played together in Hater.

Darkthrone is a Norwegian black metal band from Kolbotn, Akershus. Formed in 1986 as a death metal band named Black Death, in 1991 the band embraced a black metal style influenced by Bathory and Celtic Frost and became one of the leading bands in the Norwegian black metal scene. Their first three black metal albums - 'A Blaze In The Northern Sky' (1992), 'Under A Funeral Moon' (1993) and 'Transilvanian Hunger' (1994) - are often dubbed the 'Unholy Trinity'. They are considered the peak of the band's career and to be among the most influential albums in black metal.

Goatwhore was formed by guitarist/backing vocalist Sammy 'Pierre' Duet, who was previously the lead guitarist for Louisiana sludge metal band Acid Bath. The band's origins can date back to 1991 with Sammy and drummer Zak Nolan. The band was at the time called Killgore with Duet on lead guitar and vocals and Zak Nolan on drums. Killgore would release a number of demos up until 1997 when they changed their name to Goatwhore, after Acid Bath dissolved due to the death of bassist Audie Pitre.

Guns n' Roses is an American hard rock band from Los Angeles, California, formed in March 1985 when local bands Hollywood Rose and L.A. Guns merged. With their stylistic mix of punk rock, blues rock and heavy metal, the band helped move mainstream rock away from the glam metal era of the mid-late 1980s. In their early years, the band's hedonism and rebelliousness drew comparisons to the early Rolling Stones and earned them the nickname "the most dangerous band in the world". Significant controversy followed the band due to late show starts and riots (notably the 1991 Riverport riot), lyrics perceived as problematic, Rose's outspoken persona, several other member's drug and alcohol abuse issues, lawsuits, and public feuds with other artists. Several members of the band are considered some of the best in their fields with Rose considered one of the best vocalists, Slash as one of the best guitarists and McKagan as one of the best bassists by various publications. Guns n' Roses were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2012, and have sold more than 100 million records worldwide, including 45 million in the United States, making them one of the best-selling acts in history.

'The Killer Is Within' is the second E.P. by The Mark Of Cain. It contains mostly live tracks, and two tracks that would feature on the band's next album (although 'Tell Me' is an earlier version).

The Mark Of Cain (often called TMOC) are an alternative metal band from Adelaide, South Australia. They formed in mid-1984 by brothers, John (guitar) and Kim Scott (bass guitar), with Rod Archer on vocals and Gavin Atkinson playing drums. Before long, Archer had left the group and John Scott took on the lead vocal role. The group has remained a trio ever since, with the Scotts the core of the band which has featured 15 different drummers. Their style has been likened to that of Helmet and Rollins Band, yet the band pre-dates both groups and was influenced by the early work of Joy Division, Big Black and United States hardcore groups.

'Perfect Strangers' is the eleventh studio album by Deep Purple. It was the most successful album recorded by the re-formed 'Mark II' line-up. It was the first Deep Purple studio album in nine years, and the first with the Mk II line-up in eleven years, the last being 'Who Do We Think We Are' in 1973. Ritchie Blackmore and Roger Glover arrived from Rainbow, Ian Gillan from Black Sabbath, Jon Lord from Whitesnake, and Ian Paice from Gary Moore's backing band. The album was a commercial success, reaching #5 in the U.K. charts and #17 on the Billboard 200 in the U.S. It was only the second Deep Purple studio album to be certified platinum in the United States, following 1972's 'Machine Head'. 'Unleashed In The East' is the first live album by Judas Priest. It was recorded live over two nights in Tokyo during their Hell Bent For Leather Tour in February 1979.
