Ballew's career in music traces back to his street performances in a duo called Egg, during his time in Boston in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Following a brief period in Los Angeles performing with Beck, Ballew returned to Washington and formed The Presidents Of The United States Of America in 1993, a band that lasted until 2015.

Founded by brothers Rick and Raj Parashar, it features 5,000 square feet (460 m2) of tall ceilings, hardwood floors, brick walls and live acoustics. Layout of the studio includes live rooms, a control room, overdub suites, and a lounge with full kitchen.

'We're A Happy Family, A Tribute To Ramones' is a tribute album to the Ramones by Various Artists. It started when Johnny Ramone was presented with the idea of a tribute album and was asked if he wanted to participate, to which he agreed, as long as he would have full control over the project. He was able to get Rob Zombie as a co-producer, and call upon high profile bands to participate. Rob Zombie also did the cover artwork, and Stephen King, a Ramones fan, wrote the liner notes.

Ramones were an American punk rock band formed in the New York City neighborhood Forest Hills, Queens in 1974. Known for helping establish the punk movement in the United States, the Ramones are often cited as the first true punk band. Though achieving little commercial success, the band is seen today as highly influential in punk culture. In 1996, after a tour with the Lollapalooza music festival, they played a farewell concert in Los Angeles and disbanded. They are ranked number 26 in Rolling Stone magazine's list of the "100 Greatest Artists Of All Time" and number 17 in VH1's "100 Greatest Artists Of Hard Rock". In 2002, Ramones were ranked the second-greatest band of all time by Spin, trailing only The Beatles.
