'The Last Will And Testament' is the fourteenth studio album by Opeth. The album is a concept album set in the post-World War I era, unfolding the story of a wealthy, conservative patriarch (who is infertile) whose last will and testament reveals shocking family secrets. It was originally set to be released on October 11, 2024, but was later pushed back to November 22, 2024 due to manufacturing delays. It is the band's first release with drummer Waltteri Vayrynen, who in 2022 officially replaced Martin Axenrot after his departure the year before. It also marks the return of death metal elements such as death growls since Watershed (2008), as well as being their first fully conceptual album since Still Life (1999).

Opeth is a Swedish progressive metal band from Stockholm, formed in 1990. The band incorporates folk, blues, classical, and jazz elements into its usually lengthy compositions, as well as strong influences from death metal, especially in their early works. Songs may include acoustic guitar passages, Mellotrons, death growls, and strong dynamic shifts.

Storm Corrosion was a musical collaboration between Swedish musician Mikael Akerfeldt of progressive death metal band Opeth and English musician Steven Wilson of the progressive rock band Porcupine Tree. Akerfeldt and Wilson began a longstanding musical partnership in 2001 when Wilson produced Opeth's fifth studio album Blackwater Park. The two began writing together for a new project in 2010, releasing their self-titled only studio album in 2012 through Roadrunner Records. A critical success, Storm Corrosion was a musical shift for Akerfeldt and Wilson. Not wanting the project to be a progressive metal supergroup, the two used it as an opportunity to explore their more esoteric tastes in music, including influences from Comus and Scott Walker. No touring to promote the album was undertaken, nor were any plans for future music established, with the two instead opting to return to their respective other musical projects.

'In Search Of Sanity' is the third studio album by Onslaught. This album was originally recorded with Sy Keeler, but London Records were not impressed with the final product from a commercial point of view and enforced a re-mix and a complete re-recording of the vocals by Grim Reaper frontman Steve Grimmett, being the only album featuring him. While the album was mostly in the same thrash/speed metal vein as The Force (1986), it contains a more polished sound than Onslaught's previous albums, acquiring a more progressive and melodic edge. Despite meeting mixed reviews by their fans, it was moderately successful, peaking at number 46 on the U.K. album charts. It was the band's last album before disbanding in 1991.

'The Last Will And Testament' is the fourteenth studio album by Opeth. The album is a concept album set in the post-World War I era, unfolding the story of a wealthy, conservative patriarch (who is infertile) whose last will and testament reveals shocking family secrets. It was originally set to be released on October 11, 2024, but was later pushed back to November 22, 2024 due to manufacturing delays. It is the band's first release with drummer Waltteri Vayrynen, who in 2022 officially replaced Martin Axenrot after his departure the year before. It also marks the return of death metal elements such as death growls since Watershed (2008), as well as being their first fully conceptual album since Still Life (1999).

As such, it is the band's first album to feature Keeler's replacement Dave Garnett, as well as two new members, James Perry (drums) and Wayne Dorman (guitar). The closing track "A Perfect Day To Die" is a re-recording of their one-off single from 2019, which had Keeler on vocals and was dedicated to Lemmy of Motorhead.
