'Heaven And Hell, A Tribute To The Velvet Underground (Volume One)' is a tribute album to The Velvet Underground. It features a number of alternative rock bands.
The Velvet Underground was an American rock band formed in New York City in 1964. They became known for their integration of rock and roll and the avant-garde, which earned them little commercial success during their initial nine-year run but made them one of the most influential bands of their era, particularly in underground, experimental, and alternative music scenes. Their provocative subject matter and experimentation were instrumental in the development of punk rock, new wave and other genres. In 1998, The New York Times called them 'arguably the most influential American rock band of our time'.

Heavy Metal
'The Beginning' is a compilation album by Mercyful Fate. It consists of the Nuns Have No Fun E.P. (1982), with additional tracks recorded at the BBC.
Mercyful Fate is a Danish heavy metal band from Copenhagen, formed in 1981 by vocalist King Diamond and guitarist Hank Shermann. Influenced by progressive rock and hard rock, and with lyrics dealing with LaVeyan Satanism (often with ironic or sardonic use of Christian themes) and the occult, Mercyful Fate was part of the first wave of black metal in the early to mid-1980s, along with Venom and Bathory. The band is also cited as a formative influence on many then-up-and-coming subgenres of heavy metal, including thrash metal and death metal, as well as the Norwegian black metal scene.
