Celtic Frost was a Swiss metal band from Zurich formed in June 1984 by guitarist and vocalist Thomas Gabriel Fischer and bassist Martin Eric Ain after terminating the band Hellhammer a month prior. They are remembered for their strong influence on the development of several varieties of extreme metal and for their avant-garde approach to music more generally. After the release of 'Vanity/Nemesis' (1990), the group temporarily disbanded. They then re-formed in 2001 and released the critically acclaimed 'Monotheist' (2006), and finally disbanded permanently following Fischer's departure in 2008. His following band, Triptykon, was seen as a continuation of the legacy Celtic Frost had left. |

'Apocalyptic Raids' is an E.P. by Hellhammer. It was recorded and released in March 1984, and was the band's only commercial release, prior to them becoming Celtic Frost. The record was a major influence on the then-emerging death metal and black metal genres. It has served as an inspiration to such varied and respected bands as Napalm Death and Sepultura, both of whom recorded cover versions of 'Messiah'. |

'Into The Pandemonium' is the third studio album by Celtic Frost. The album marks the return of bassist and backing vocalist Martin Eric Ain, who appeared on 1984's 'Morbid Tales'. The album is more varied than past releases, with an unlikely cover (Wall Of Voodoo's 'Mexican Radio'), emotionally charged love songs, industrial-influenced rhythmic songs of demons and destruction, and a classical piece with female vocals. Fans were divided by the diversity of the album upon release. |

'In Memory Of... Celtic Frost' is a Celtic Frost tribute album. It is notable for its inclusion of "Babylon Fell" by Apollyon Sun, which features former Celtic Frost vocalist/guitarist Tom Gabriel Fischer. Whilst mostly a tribute to Celtic Frost, it also pays a small nod to Fischer's other former band, Hellhammer. |
