Pantera is an American heavy metal band from Arlington, Texas, formed in 1981 by the Abbott brothers (guitarist Dimebag Darrell and drummer Vinnie Paul). In addition to their development and popularization of the groove metal subgenre, Pantera is credited (along with others, such as Testament, Sepultura, and Machine Head) for being part of the second wave of thrash metal scene from the late 1980s to early-to-mid 1990s. Regarded as one of the most successful and influential bands in heavy metal history, Pantera has sold around 20 million records worldwide and has received four Grammy nominations. |

'Metal Magic' is the debut studio album by Pantera. Like the band's next three releases, it is musically oriented toward a glam/heavy metal sound influenced by Kiss and Van Halen, rather than the groove metal style they became famous for playing in the 1990s. The album was released on the band's own label (also called Metal Magic) and produced by Jerry Abbott (under the alias The Eld'n), a noted country music songwriter and producer, and father of Darrell and Vince Abbott, who were 16 and 19 years old, respectively, at the time of release. |

'Projects In The Jungle' is the second studio album by Pantera. Though sharing many similarities with Def Leppard's pre-Hysteria sound (Pyromania had been released the year before), the album also contains influences from bands like Judas Priest and in addition to Van Halen-inspired guitar solos features many speed metal-oriented guitar riffs. |

'Power Metal' is the fourth studio album by Pantera. It is the first Pantera album to feature Phil Anselmo on lead vocals, as part of Pantera's best-known lineup which would last until the band's breakup in 2003. The album signals a shift in a heavier direction and has been described as a bridge between the band's original glam metal style and the heavier groove metal sound of their subsequent work. It contains influences from speed and thrash metal while still retaining elements from the band's previous releases. The sound of the album has often been compared to that of Judas Priest, in particular Anselmo's vocals to that of Rob Halford. |

'The Crow (Music From The Original Motion Picture)' is the soundtrack to the superhero film 'The Crow' (1994). The album featured covers, including Nine Inch Nails, Pantera , and Rollins Band. The inclusion of songs written by The Cure and Joy Division are notable because the influences of both bands are present in the original comic book. Peaking at the top of the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart, the album has sold 3.8 million copies in the United States, and has been certified 3x Platinum by RIAA. |
