An angry bugbear

Medium humanoid (goblinoid), chaotic evil

Bugbears are a humanoid distantly related to, but larger and stronger than, goblins and hobgoblins. Like many goblinoids, bugbears speak the goblin language. They are one of the only goblinoids to be covered in fur.

Bugbears are usually found in the company of hobgoblins and goblins. They usually enslave goblins and bully hobgoblins into servitude as scouts and troops. Bugbears are untrustworthy, even when paid for their services.

Despite their large size bugbears move with great agility. They are fond of setting ambushes, but will flee when outnumbered.

In Battle

• Usually wear hide armor, and often carry a shield.
• Usually carry a melee weapon, (such as a morningstar) which deals extra damage due to the brute force.
• If it surprises a creature it deals extra damage on the first attack if it hits.
