Polyhedral dice

Equally as important as the core rule books, you will need some polyhedral dice. You can't role-play without them.

A basic set of 6 usually contains -

• 1x d20
• 1x d12
• 1x d10
• 1x d8
• 1x d6
• 1x d4

These days most sets also have a d100 (marked in groups of 10) to use for percentages - but the 6 above are the most important ones.

These can be found in any gaming or hobby shop, or even easier on eBay for about $3-5 a set. You can get glow-in-the-dark or fancy colours or glittery ones. If you have the spare dollars, buy 2 or 3 sets, as it makes it easier when you have to roll multiple dice. If you want to go very fancy you can even get metal ones, but these will set you back at $30 upwards per set.

If you don't have any right now, don't worry - The Foalestead Citadel has hundreds of them, so you can borrow some until you find the exact set you want.
