What are Adventures and Campaigns?

Adventures & Campaigns

In Dungeons & Dragons your character will go on many adventures. These adventures may be as small as clearing the basement of a tavern of an infestation of rats, or as large as infiltrating the tower of a mad wizard. Regardless of how large or small the adventure, there will always be some role-playing and probably some combat.

Once a few adventures are strung together by a common plot thread a campaign is formed. Campaigns can stretch over long periods of time, both in the game world and in the real world. They are usually set on a fantasy world that grows and a changes with the campaigns events. In fact, multiple campaigns can be played over time in the same world, creating something living and growing. Any games played at The Foalestead Citadel are part of a large narrative that includes multiple people and multiple campaigns. Something you do can actually affect another game that other players are in!

Should it survive, your character can go on to do many great things, and you can continue to play them for years ahead.
