The 7th adventure path to be released was Tomb Of Annihilation, released on the 19th of September 2017. The adventure was designed for levels 1-11 and moved the action away from The Sword Coast to a lesser known part of the Faerûn called Chult. Chult is a mysterious humid jungle peninsula to the south of the continent, that is covered in unexplored mountain ranges.

The plot line is loosely connected to the classic Tomb Of Horrors module from 1975 (that was revised in 2016's Tales From The Yawning Portal), and tells the tale of a curse that is wasting away anyone ever raised from the dead. The story was written by the usual Wizards Of The Coast crew, but with the help of the award-winning creator of Adventure Time, Pendleton Ward. If you have ever seen Adventure Time, you'll know it is full of bizarre surprises...

Being jungle based (and on a long once-lost peninsula) the adventure has a lot of differences from previous ones released. It allows the DM more room to experiment with lesser used creatures (like the brilliant yuan-ti), and also opens up the opportunity to use a whole range of new creatures and items that wouldn't have a place in an adventure set on The Sword Coast. It also means plain old dungeons can suddenly become lost temples of Aztec-like jungle civilisations, guarded by ancient traps and long forgotten gods.

To make the adventure extra special Wizards have also published a set of official Tomb Of Annihilation dice, nicely packaged in a shiny embossed tin.
